Description
Enjoy a delicious and nutritious spinach and cherry smoothie that’s perfect for a refreshing drink any time of day!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
- 1 cup pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
- 1 banana (fresh, for creaminess)
- 1 cup almond milk (or your preferred dairy/non-dairy milk)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for added sweetness)
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt (optional, for creaminess and protein)
- Ice cubes (optional, for a thicker consistency)
Instructions
- Wash the spinach leaves thoroughly and pit the cherries if using fresh ones.
- In your blender, combine the spinach, pitted cherries, banana, and yogurt (if using).
- Add the almond milk to the blender. Adjust the amount based on your desired consistency—less milk for a thicker smoothie, more for a thinner one.
- If you prefer a sweeter drink, add honey or maple syrup.
- Blend the mixture on high speed for about 2-3 minutes until smooth and creamy.
- If the smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk; if it’s too thin, consider adding more frozen cherries or some ice cubes.
- Give the smoothie a taste, and if needed, add any additional sweetener or ingredients for desired flavor.
- Pour the smoothie into a tall glass, and enjoy it right away for the best flavor and texture!
Notes
- This smoothie is best enjoyed immediately, but you can store it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
- For added nutrition, consider adding a scoop of protein powder or chia seeds.
