Description

Delicious and crispy potato patties made with grated potatoes and onions.


Ingredients

  • 3 medium Russet potatoes (about 600g), peeled and grated
  • 1 small onion (about 70g), finely grated
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil or butter (60ml)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika or garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and grate the potatoes. Rinse under cold water until clear.
  2. Drain grated potatoes using a clean kitchen towel to remove moisture.
  3. In a bowl, combine drained potatoes with onion, salt, and pepper. Add optional seasonings if desired.
  4. Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Form potato mixture into patties and fry for about 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown.
  6. Transfer to paper towels to drain excess oil and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add herbs like parsley or chives to the mixture.
