Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs

Description

Enjoy tender and flavorful baby back ribs cooked in a delicious sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 45 pounds rack baby back beef ribs
  • 2 large onions (halved and thinly sliced)
  • 6 garlic cloves (thinly sliced)
  • 3 15-ounce cans tomato sauce (4 cups total)
  • 3/4 cup maple syrup
  • 6 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tablespoons smoked paprika
  • 2 Tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 Tablespoons onion powder
  • 1 Tablespoon fine sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups water or broth

Instructions

  1. Grease the slow cooker with cooking spray.
  2. Place a thin layer of onions at the bottom of the slow cooker insert (about 1/4 of the sliced onions).
  3. Place ribs on top of the onions.
  4. Place remaining sliced onions and garlic on top of the ribs.
  5. Whisk all sauce ingredients in a large bowl until combined. Pour over the ribs/onions and make sure some drips to the bottom of the pan.
  6. Cook on low for 7-8 hours until the ribs are tender. Even more liquid will start to appear after the 5 hour mark.
  7. Remove ribs from the crockpot carefully with tongs and set onto a cutting board.
  8. Let ribs cool slightly, then slice between the ribs and serve with the onion & garlic from the slow cooker.

Notes

  • For best results, do not rush the cooking time to ensure the ribs are tender.
