Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for brulee topping)
  • Fresh berries, for garnish
  • Powdered sugar, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with unsalted butter.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Cut the brioche or challah bread into slices and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread, ensuring all slices are well coated. Let it soak for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  6. Sprinkle the brulee topping sugar evenly over the casserole.
