Description

A creamy and cheesy hash brown casserole perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 32 oz frozen shredded hash browns
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes or Ritz crackers
  • 1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sour cream, cream of chicken soup, 1/2 cup melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Fold in hash browns, chopped onion, and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly coated.
  4. Spread mixture evenly in prepared dish.
  5. In a small bowl, combine crushed cornflakes or Ritz with 1/4 cup melted butter; sprinkle on top.
  6. Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
