A creamy and cheesy hash brown casserole perfect for any occasion.

- 32 oz frozen shredded hash browns
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can (10 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups crushed cornflakes or Ritz crackers
- 1/4 cup melted butter (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix sour cream, cream of chicken soup, 1/2 cup melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Fold in hash browns, chopped onion, and shredded cheddar cheese until evenly coated.
- Spread mixture evenly in prepared dish.
- In a small bowl, combine crushed cornflakes or Ritz with 1/4 cup melted butter; sprinkle on top.
- Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
- Feel free to add cooked meat for extra protein.
